PCR / qPCR: DNA / RNA Amplification

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a fundamental molecular biology technique that enables the amplification of specific DNA sequences from minimal starting material. It is widely used in cloning, genotyping, mutagenesis, and pathogen detection.

Quantitative PCR (qPCR, also known as real-time PCR) builds upon conventional PCR by enabling real-time monitoring of DNA amplification, allowing both detection and precise quantification of target nucleic acids, including DNA and RNA (via reverse transcription).
