Density is 2.75, traits of white crystalline or colorless glassy crystals, strong moisture absorption, it dissolves in water, glycerol, slowly dissolved in methanol, can form a concentration of 13-16% of the solution, the aqueous solution was weakly alkaline, insoluble in alcohol. Borax is heated to 350 ~ 400 ℃ obtain anbydrous borax. Put it in the air, it will change to borax decahydrate or borax pentahydrate by absorbing moisture.
